Team Milram's Giro on Motionbased

Thought this would provide some interest - Milram's Giro d' Italia - all the stages route maps / elevation and a breakdown of how fast they went.

Pretty cool if you're a data junkie.

That is REALLY cool.

Question: are the speeds really super accurate? It claims they went 71 mph (not kph) numerous times. Do they really reach speeds that fast on descents? If so, wow.

Could be! I once reached 104kph (64mph) on a 4km 10% straight downhill.

EDIT: Just noticed - if you click 'next' at the bottom you'll see some of the spring classics logged as well!

Damn....21+ mph average for a 110 mile stage with over 13,000 feet of climbing. That's nuts.

No it doesn't. They were in the peloton. 28 mph sounds about right for a pro race.

"43k individual time trial ridden by Petacchi. Impressive speeds (although that is the team bus that reaches 117km/h on the highway on the way back to the hotel - AP didn't press stop again!)"
