Guitar Wizard- I have 2 of those Race Lite Hardcase tires hangin in the garage. Got the pair for 28 bucks brand spankin. I haven't put them on yet but they also seem to be a pretty good bet, however my race lite regulars seem to be doing the trick for now.

By the way, the universe did not explode or implode, while running different types of tires, for me either.

I had 2 sets...one wore out after 2500 miles of NYC racing/training (165#) no flats. The second set stranded me several times, front and rear, and are a ***** to get off of the rim so when you're far from home a real pain to change the tube. Then I decided to switch back to my maxxis training tires...they don't ride quite as nice and maybe i'd switch to the michelins for a crit, but they just never flat and i can't tell the diff as far as speed goes.

To the OP - are you using cheap tubes? Try a set of premium tubes and see if you still have the problem.

they are good tires, but I don't think they are up to the task of riding on the street, with glass and debris.
if you are a pro tour rider with wheel support, great, or even if you drive to your races or put race only wheels on. But not if you race and train on the same wheels.
