Happily my wife is utterly oblivious to all things cycling related. I had my TT bike in the garage for a week and she didn't notice it was there. I did eventually confess to its purchase. I always highlight the large savings I acheived on eBay. That's the kind of spin Pcad does best, and it is not measurable by any existing bike computer.
Apologies for the protocl breech. My wife recently got tired of my *****ing about my heart rate monitor, and brought me home a new one. In the world of just starting out assistant professors with two small kids, this was quite an indulgence. Her reward: not having to listen to me whine. She did tell me not to come home from my first training crit tomorrow night without a medal, however. I don't deserve her.

So I revise my earlier statement. By a power meter (doesn't really matter which one). It sounds like you need to keep yourself on your toes in hiding / explaining things to your wonderful spouse whom I assume you don't deserve.

Even though GGG300 avatar seems to parrell your early life I think the "burnout" he was referencing was from cycling not your chalked up days

P-cad into Prince?

I was dreamin' when I wrote this
Forgive me if it goes astray

But when I woke up this mornin'
Coulda sworn it was judgment day

The sky was all purple
There were people runnin' everywhere

Tryin' 2 run from the destruction
U know I didn't even care

'Cuz they say two thousand zero zero party over
Oops out of time
So tonight I'm gonna party like it's 1999

You must mean on the middle line, where it's a setup function.

If you look closely, the bottom line (at least on my non wireless PT) toggles between cadence (C), Avg cadence (C Avg), HR (heart symbol) Avg Hr, Distance, Odometer, and a couple other things I can't recall.

Oh yeah, an estimate of Calories (E).
