Since TT's seem to be the topic of the week, post your TT machine.

Mine's nothing special, looking to upgrade to the Aloha Carbon(finally) next year, but for now this works great. Started out as a budget build last year and slowly evolved to a pretty decent ride.

Not counting the wheels ;), my ride is also a budget build (thanks to team/sponsors).

I think you both have your hed3 fronts on backwards. They are not the same and the valve opening should be on the other side(according to the BTR guys)

Fat side cuts the wind first. Valve goes on the drive side.

Look at his rear wheel, it only mounts one way, the correct way. Just like the front.

Mine also started out as a budget build. Got the frame used, but in excellent condition, on Ebay for $695.
However buying the gruppo and the wheels, it became a little bit less of a bargain.

Yep, they are Q-rings.

Yes merlin, yours is backwards. The valve goes on the drive side. The spokes are aero, so you want the fat side cutting through the air first while spinning.

Well heck, that explains why I'm so slow. I knew it couldn't be the motor.:)

Just kind of curious, how much does the disc actually help compared to a regular deep rim (404 for example).

none, dont waist you time ;)

actually quite a bit but the difference between a disc cover and a disc is very little. You could get a disc cover for your 404's from wheelbuilder for about $85 cut to fit

That's arguable. It depends on conditions, mostly wind and hills, really.

I don't think having a disc vs deep rear is too significant unless you're already at stepping onto podiums consistently. I opted out of getting a disc because I maybe do... 5-10? TTs each year. (usually for collegiate races and local stage races only). By having a deep front/back setup, I like to think that my bike is more versatile and wallet friendly since I also use the bike for triathlons.

I'll confess that I often catch myself drooling over the idea of buying a disc though :D

Sorry about not having a white garage door, but I don't have a garage. I live in the student ghetto and spent all my money on my bikes. :lol: BTW....I like the UT disc. I was thinking about putting a gator head on mine (not the Zipp, though.....the other one). I like the way yours looks, I might just go ahead and do that now.

Ugly and uncomfy Fizik saddle is gone, replaced with Specialized Alias 143 saddle. Stem/seatpost have been flipped. Bars are much lower, flatter and seat more forward now. There's actually a fairly large vertical drop between the nose of the seat and the handlebar tops now. Looks like a TT bike should. Blue handlebar tape stays.

I hated riding this bike at first. I've probably logged about 500 miles on it since then, and my position feels fairly dialed in (much closer to that nose forward UCI pro type position now). I'm actually starting to really dig riding this bike. Superb bicycle, a TT version of a Six13, smaller frame size, stouter tubes make it feel fantastic (and fast). First USCF TT is in September. Looking forward to it. I haven't actually ridden this bike with the Zipps, I train with Ksyrium SL clinchers. It's fast with the Mavics. With the Zipps it will really fly.

Thanks again for all the input I got here. HUGELY helpful. I really didn't have a clue when I first got this bike. At least I do think I got the right size (also from input here prior to purchase). The Slice is a 54cm, my regular Six13 road bike is a 56cm.

Neither do I. It's some weird subconscious thing. Perhaps I channeling Liberace'? Send the Zipps to me (with a Campy body) for this weekend's race and I promise to figure it out. :p
