Actuatly thats not an ergo stem, I think its an ITM adjustable, actuatly if you pay attention it says ITM on it.
Also his bottles are still in his draft just as much as anyone else with saddle mounted bottles.
Also low is = to aerodynamic, to a certain extent and yes his position falls into the aerodynamic category. His problem is that the angle of his hips are too acute. Sure he can probably put out 350watts for an hour but if he had to put out 800watts for 2 minutes hed have a lot of trouble really cranking on the pedals since he cant use his glutes efficently.

And isn't low = aerodynamic "to a certain extent" the same as low != aerodynamic? Look at Graeme Obree's position with his stem angled upward.

Drop your head, and don't point the tale of your helmet up. The whole low != aerodynamic thing is kind of arguable.

Making a kilometer blurry
Yeah, get a high-zoom photo of yourself from the front from far away (to eliminate perspective distortion) at handlebar height. When I saw myself from the front, I realized how compressed you really need to be to get that small frontal area. In my recent video from the front, I'm pretty compact for a 6'4" guy -- and that's due to my efforts to get lower like you (ratebeer and UT are doing). My camera man was a little high up though

If I can get a little more flexibility, I might drop the spacers beneath my pads too, but that would be 2cm -- and I'm near my limit now. At any rate, it might be interesting to see what I look like from the front in both positions. It's not as good as a wind tunnel, but it is pretty telling.

I just found the pictures of me at the State TT -- they look terrible. New stem was promptly ordered. I'd been stalling, but yeah. It was ugly.

Saddle mounted bottles just are not aerodynamic.

'low equals aerodynamics' is not the same as 'low is not equal to aerodynamic'.
The "to an extent " should be changed to 'within reason'.

UHHHH when Bjorn first showed up to triathlon competitions, nobody, I mean nobody knew who he was, and everybody was laughing at his set-up. When the triathlon started he blew away the competition on the bike course with all of the top ten tri-athletes in the world trying to catch him.
