This can't be as bad as post football season withdrawal, can it? Tell the truth; which is worse? The difference here is we can go out and ride the exact same amount of time that we spent watching the TV coverage. Never fear, the college football season starts in ~4 weeks. Go Buckeyes!

By the way, Forrest Gump always says "tour" with drawl.

There will be other chances to watch pro cycling.
Vuelta, world cup with Paris-Tours etc., world championships (in Canada)...
Then a quick winter break and the new season begins, Paris-Roubaix and all the other races...Giro...Tour...Vuelta again...

Like we'll get to see any of that on tv in canada, except the WC.

I guess it'll be baseball games, rugby, and of course, cycling tapes from before.

I think Lance is supposed to be doing commentary or something. It is definitely going to take some readjustment to get used to not scheduling my life around 1930 – 2200 hrs.

No, it's not as bad as football withdrawl, don. On the bright side, only two weeks until preseason!!! Oh, and Go Buckeyes!

I wish I could see a Sunday in Hell. I think I'll have t get the DVD.

In the meantime, we could all just go out and GET ON OUR BIKES! Summer is too short!

I admit that one of the downsides with the TdF is that I allowed it to cut into my normal cycling schedule. Then again I don't know that I have a normal cycling schedule but the amount of time I spent on my bike this month does seem to have dropped slightly. However, it was well worth it. Best Tour I've seen ever.

Well, for us we just taped it and would watch in the evening, so we could go riding, especially on weekends. NO way was I going to miss a nice summer day watching tv- you can do that when the sun sets! It was kind of a fun ritual. Dinner, then sit and enjoy the Tour. For the big mountain stages, we had people over to watch and would have pizza and beer. It was kind of fun.

August:

Three World Cups, GP Ouest-France Plouay, GP Eddy Merckx, Tre Valli Varesine, Coppa Agostoni, Coppa Bernocchi, Giro del Veneto along with numerous 1.2 - 1.3 ranked one day races and the Tour of Portugal.

A healthy Bettini, a rejuvinated Ullrich and post-Tour form in the legs of many will make August a fascinating month. Ullrich should be the man at Zurich but will George surprise us all with his great form at HEW??

I hate to admit it but I often wind up with World Cup withdrawal myself during Grand Tour times.

I know what you mean. The tour is great, but I look back nostalgically on the muddy spring classics.
