Jensy wins Deutschland Tour

Jens Voigt just won the ITT to sew up the Deutschland Tour. Leipheimer was third in the TT and I think he moved up to second overall - third at worst.

Yeah, I was happy to see that. Poor guy did all the heroics in the Tour breaks and got little to show for it.

Yeah, Levi did move up to second overall over Caisse d'Espargne's Garcia.

that's because he pushed hard, did his job for the team, and got tired. While he has a heart the size of a whale, he has a physiology of a human, without 'enhancement'.

One only wonders what the record of Jens would be today in a fair competition without his opponents juiced up.

why are you so sure Jens is clean.

Im not saying i know he's dirty, but at this point its naive to assume anyones innocence.

How on earth do you make the assumption that a Riis-directed athlete is clean, whereas everyone on Disco is dirty?

DocRay, you are a humorous mix of logical and absurd. While I respect Jens Voight for his work ethic, to assume that he is clean, considering how often he is off the front hitting it hard, is a leap I'm not willing to take. A roleur off the front just as often as a climber in the mountain stages?

If he's not clean, nobody is. He's the classiest, hardest working rider in the peloton.

(it should be noted that my opinion is biased as I have a serious man-crush on Jensy!)

Thanks to Paul and Phil, everyone loves the Jens. Talk about man crushes.

The guy might win even more often, but he seems to forego tactics and try to ride everyone off his wheel, Merckx style.

Sort of like that nice, little Mennonite boy that started out racing in long pants... or Tugboat's sad owner racing through the tour in spite of the loss of his k-9 companion.

I know none of the riders well enough to judge them on likelihood of doping. I hope Jens is clean in that I appreciate him as well, but then I also really liked Vino. Similar attitudes in many ways in races.

At this point, I concede that I do not know who is clean or dirty, only that the pros can achieve a rate of speed on a bicycle that I cannot.

I agree with you, the peloton needs more guys as classy and dedicated as Jens. I root for him myself when hes in breaks. But if even a Mennonite can dope, anyone can. They all want you to think they are clean.

If he was juicing he might actually make the breaks stick more often.

Isn't he a product of East German cycling program?

Or, alternate hypotheses:

1) If he wasn't juicing, he wouldn't make the breaks.
2) Maybe he should increase his dosage, to increase the likelihood of a break sticking.
