Race Report: 9/1 state champs
The end of the season blue were apparent at the start <100 riders in the 1-2-3 race.
They decided to split up the 1-2-3 race into a 1-2 and a 3 race. I went with the 3s, 75 miles over rolling terrain. Starts off mellow, a small break of 4 goes on the first lap, I decide to bridge, see that I'm going to drag someone else with me so I attack him and drop him. I get across and start doing work, we're riding pretty hard to get the break established and some people in this break of 6 are already sitting in, its just too hard for the already, when me and the other 2 guys working see this we sit up and the field joins us.
a couple of other small breaks went but the field kept the pressure on and they eventually broke and got caught. One guy goes on his own, hes not marked and theres 50 miles left in the race so no one responds, he stays away kind of in sight for 15 miles then a guy who is defiantly marked goes across, we figure it will come back, just keep pressure on the first guy must be tired. Then we realize its not going to come back so 15 guys start doing work, working together to bring it back, they come back into sight and the rain starts.
The chase slowed down, but the break eventually came back. Then during the last 15 miles a 1 man break goes by himself, he didn't look strong so no one went with him. Then someone bridges, he didn't look strong either so no one cares. About 7 miles to go I realize we ****ed this up and didn't chase at all. the break was going to stay away. So I sit in for the sprint, intending on going on the last little climb a k out from the finish if the run-in was slow.
We get to the last climb and I don't realize its the last climb, I'm sitting in bad position for the sprint and have no way of attacking. I'm sitting 20 wheels back and try to make my way through the pack, I end up not being able to fully open a sprint but finish 8th, 6th out of the field.
I don't feel too bad, I rode well and did a lot of work.

On a somewhat related note - I'd like to buy a pair of BSC socks from you if you guys have extra stuff lying around. Your kit is pimp-tacular

Making a kilometer blurry
Note to self: try not to look too strong when attacking

I can't spell either, but I did laugh to myself when I pictured someone riding a bike in front of a bike store with a mean defiant look on their face.
