Should I Cat up?
Hey guys,
My first racing season is coming to a close. I started late in the season and didn't get to do any of the road race events in my area which are earlier in the season. I'm pretty sure that I've done about 15 - 20 mass start races which were mostly the weekly crits with one road race and a few circuit races and TT's. My results haven't been that stellar. I've had about four 5th place finsishes and usually always finish in the top 10. I'm curious if I should stay a Cat 5 and ride the early road events next year or Cat up now to add extra motivation to my training. Let me know what you guy's think. -s |
I think the standing opinion around here is that: "If you have to ask, you should do it"

If you've done 20 races, and consistently finish top ten, time to Cat up.
|
Consistent top ten in Austin? Cat up.
|
Yes. If you've done 15 - 20 mass start races, you should have catted up 5 to 10 races ago.
