So, my conversion from my old P2SL TT bike to RacerEx's Plasma failed pretty badly (the bike just didn't fit right, and I wasn't going to be able to make it fit).
Thus, I need a new TT bike.... Sarcastic replies aside, considering both bikes will fit, both have been test ridden, and I'm fairly indifferent, what bike do you take? '07 Felt B2 or *possibly* a DA or.... '07/'08 Cervelo P2C Felt *claims* to have the most aero UCI bike ever, but I have yet to see actual data backing that up... I really like the idea of the hidden brake, and while I'm gonna end up selling the part kit off of whatever bike I get and putting my SRAM on, the parts on the Felt are worth a lot more (so the frame is gonna end up being only ~$1500 vs. $1800 for the Cervelo). The P2C is tried and true. I'm leaning towards the B2, but I wanted to see if anyone has experience with either of these bikes... Thanks! |
Why not just get the B2 frame set, if you're going to part it out anyway? Felt is my new teams bike sponsor, and I've got the itch to pull the trigger on the B2 Pro. The DA is the schit, but I can't justify that much on a TT bike, especially when the engine needs work.

Personally, I love Cervelos though I have never ridden the P2C. Last year's model was very good looking.
However, knowing nothing about both bikes, I can tell you that I feel the Felt LOOKS better. Plus it is less expensive with better parts? I think it likely that the cervelo is more adjustable as a TT fit evolves over time, plus cervelo DOES know their aerodynamics and wind tunnel research. Still, to save cash for a sweet looking ride, I might go with the felt. |
based unashemedly on aethetics, the p2c is much better to me. the felt has a little too much batmobile about it. plus, i don't really dig the hidden brake business.
don't worry though, you can't make the wrong choice here. |

The whole cervelo fad is starting to get really really old. Go for the felt ;)

I don't have numbers but after talking with several tri product managers the Felt was given the nod as the fastest UCI legal frame (that's from guys building UCI non-legal frames).

Can you try both bikes and see if 1 will fit better than the other? Fit will be the only difference between the two that makes 1 faster than the other. I know it can take weeks to dial in a TT fit, but you may get a good idea in an hour or so if one of the bikes isn't going to get there. Either one looks like a great TT bike.

Yeah, I've definitely been gone all day, crashing my Scott on a training ride. Serious boo there. I think I'm gonna spring for the Felt. For $2500 with a Dura Ace kit, FSA Chrono crankset, etc (it's an '07), it's kinda hard to pass.
Besides, I can get a slightly better position on the Felt, and I like the way it looks. |
YES! The Felt is an awesome bike, If I had $3800 for a frameset, I'd totally get the DA.
