Race on a Ti frame?

Hey, I ride a 2004 Talon w. 9 spd ultegra. I want to get a new bike and was gung ho for the RT700 w. Dura Ace-for racing-the only races I will be doing are hilly.
now that I've seen the prices for the Ti bikes and the quality is high, I am thinking about the ti bike w. Dura Ace.
would it be good enough for my racing needs? I race with zipp303's, would they look silly on a ti bike.
Input from anyone that has raced on both titanium and Carbon Fiber would be appreciated, thanks.

Zipps look cool on anything. It will be fine. I've raced on an entry level steel bike with tiagra components and won.

Hi,

I haven't raced Ti in a long time but it doesn't matter what you ride as long as you can ride it fast. I you like the look of CF and Zipp 303s (my favorite race wheel of all time) and the mental benefit makes you ride faster then do that. If showing up on Ti with 303s gives you a mental edge then go that way. Either material in a high quality frame with proper fit will allow you to ride fast and, IMHO, good wheels can transform most any bike.

Hope this helps.

Frame material, a race, does not win.
