crankset question: SRAM vs. Dura-Ace
the last season I was racing with FSA SL-K compact (50/36) crankset. for the next season I'm considering switching to a standard (53/39) crankset. the cassette will remain the same -- 11-26. there are couple reasons for the swap: (1) FSA is a bit too flexible and, (2) gear ratio.
however, the question came up. there are two Shimano-compatible craksets: Dura-Ace and SRAM Force. For those who had an opportunity to ride (and race) on both: which one of of them is more stiff?

I'd get the DA crankset. Stiffer, lighter, and waaay sexier. This coming from a SRAM junkie, too.

On a serious note, I remember reading something a while back and did some Googling and found this.

Looks like Ultegra is the stiffest. Interesting because if you look at the mountain crank sets, XT was the stiffest.

Yeah, I had heard that Ultegra was stiffer than DA before. I think the Ultegra cranks are way uglier than the DA cranks, but on the other hand, it makes the SL a super-attractive option now.

Note that the article linked is from 2006. Things may have changed somewhat since then.
I have both DA and ultegra on my road and TT bikes respectively. Stifness-wise, I cannot distinguish between the two, although I weigh only 140 lbs, so any difference may be more noticeable for a heavier rider. However, the DA cranks just spin better, presumably as a result of the DA bottom bracket.
For performance/$ I'd go with ultegra crank/DA BB.

yep. I just sold off my compact sram force cranks to get a 53/39 and I ended up getting DA instead (and saved $50 in the process!)
anyone try wading through the sea of FSA while crank shopping? so many weights between model years and then trying to find which ones were problematic...no thanks!
