i want to start racing...cat 5 is the beginning right? Where can i find a cat 5 road race around the pittsburgh area? I seen they have sat 5 races at a local track, but i dont want to do half mile laps...i want to race in an actually open road course.

Or you could try Cat Jive. That's where you don't race and come on BF and post made-up racing stories. Works for me.

I'm doing the Tour de Toona this year, and may be down for some odds-and-ends Western PA races if they don't conflict with the schedule here.

I think most PA racing is east, out toward lancaster area, aside from 'toona, which is a must do if you're anywhere close to it. Maybe check out the eastern OH calender as well.
If someone has better info on races near pgh, pa, please post. I grew up in that part of the world and have lots of family there, wouldnt mind incorporating a few races into family visit weekends.

It says there's a RR in Ligonier, at least, if you think the 'blue' was really typo-d 'not held in 2007'. Ligonier is a beautiful rolling hills area, I'm sure they could hold a top notch race there.

Or at the very least join a team and go to some skills workshops so you can develop pack-riding skills. You don't want to be the ******* who goes down and takes out half the field because someone bumped your elbow.
