But seriously, when I used to have sleep problems relating to medication, I took melatonin tablets. They are pretty cheap and helped me. May have been placebo, but if so, it was a pretty good one.
Maybe you should give the 2 year old the optygen?

I sleep like a baby on the Oreo and habanero sauce supplements. The trick is that you have to take a lot of Oreos. Just a few will leave you awake wanting more. Same with the hab sauce: if you're not sweating by the end of the meal, you need to start over.

That ugly dude can be my stunt double for the death scene, but you're going to need pretty boy Pcad for the close-ups and the love scenes with the hot podium girls.

we could be on to something: maybe he's mild-mannered pcad by day, and up-all-night diablo by night. kind of a clark kent/superman thing. well, jekyll/hyde is probably closer

Here is a bit of advice. Do not and I repeat, DO NOT take a supplement, pill, drink, food or anything else you haven't tried the night before the race. I called my buddy who is a doc and told him about my sleep issues. He said get off the Optygen and try some meletonin. So Friday night I did and it knocked me on my arse. I woke up (barely) on Sat morning in a fog. Never could wake up, sat on the trainer in Murietta hoping that the legs would snap out of it, never really did. Downed three gels and a Cheerpak and started the race. My HR was in zone 5 at the end of lap 1. I closed down one break and hung at the front for about another 2 laps then the lights went out. Cleave came by me and said hi as I slid off the back. Since this was an omnium I decided to pack it in and head home with hopes that Sunday will be a better day.

i work nights and tried melatonin for a while to help me sleep during the day. i finally gave it up. i didn't like the feeling that i had been 'drugged'. i honestly don't think the optygen can be the problem, but then again, i'm not taking it in the evening and doing late-night workouts, either

^I don't know, Optygen sure felt like a stimulant to me.

Honestly, i think it was a really bad idea to take melatonin, and would never no matter what.

I, as i said before have been having the same sleep issues. I stopped taking supplements of rhodiola rosea (which is in Optygen) and have been sleeping better. I've only been off it for 3 days now, last night was the first night i got a straight 7 hours of sleep.

In hindsight it was one of worst night before a race decisions I've ever made. I felt completely out of it all day yesterday.

So it's been 10 days since ditching the Optygen and my normal sleep cycle has returned. I guess something in my metabolism has changed and I can't take the stuff anymore.

Perhaps wasting money on a pill that does nothing is keeping you up at night?

I, and many others have found performance benefit from Optygen. If you read the whole thread you'd know that I took it last year with good effect.
