How do you...

Quit a team the classy way? I'm leaving mine, but not because they're a bad team. Circumstances are different from when I joined, and it just doesn't make sense. That said, I've only been on that team 6 months, so I'm afraid I'm going to leave a sour taste in people's mouth by leaving, so I want to make sure I do it right.

>>confused<<

Serious answer: honesty is the best policy. You're young; I doubt they are going to hold a grudge.

Unserious answer: pump in the front wheel of the team leader on the next team ride. Alternatively, help bring back a break by one of your team's protected writers.

If you got any "deals" because of the team, make sure you fulful any obligations on your part to the team. Suck it up and HTFU if you have to. If you didn't get anything in return for being on the team, then I agree with what other people said, just be honest and explain the situation to whomever is in charge and/or cares.

offer to reimburse or return your kit? i dunno, i guess pay back any perks you havnt fufilled like other have said...

or, scratch the hell out of their carbon fiber frames with aluminum brake levers that you wrecked on, leaving the levers with huge, carbon devouring barbs. (i hope im not only one here with a bike[parts] this capable of carbon destruction)

Wear your new kit under your current kit. Make it into the break in the next race, then sit up and shed your current team's jersey...

Yeah...I really don't want to seem preachy, or like an ass - but man, maybe you should stick with the guys you've made a commitment to, at least for the remainder of this season.

I'm leaving my current team when I move this summer, but I know I've given more to the organization than I've taken from it.

This is why we make riders sign contracts. That way, if you want to leave, there is a clear way to go about it.

I would be willing to handle the matter with all the aplomb and grace of Arod's agent S. Boras. Have your girl call my girl.
