First Race in one Month
So I fianlly got my bike chiseled away from the trainer and on the road today. I have been putting in the hours on the trainer and thought i'd test my luck on the road. Quite a difference after pedaling on the trainer all winter. I had thought I would be a rocket on the road after my winter training but I am still in my base period and is quite clear i have some adaptation to do with my peadling after being on the trainer. I have get some rollers next year to help smooth my pedal stroke. It looked nice and sunny but as soon as I got out the sun went down. I was dressed accordingly accept for my freezing feet. Tried taping off my shoe vents and that helped a little. It was 4deg celcius (40F) with a east 15km/h wind. All in all a good ride. Covered 61.91km in 1:51. I have a race in one month and hope to be ready. This will be my first ever race and I will be Cat4 since there is no cat5 in the Ontario Cycling. It wasn't and all out effort but a decent ride mixing in zones 2,3,4. Do i look to be on the right track or what?

sounds like it, but dont be terribly dissappointed if you get dropped on your first race, or third, in my case today haha.
make sure you do some good group rides though, racing is much different than timetrialing.
