Good report, sub. Concise.
Didn't get pulled, but no top 10. Engine needs work.
Ciao.

Started a break, got popped several laps later, still managed to finish in front of the pack, 4th. 25mph average with 4 people for 30 minutes, I'm pleased as it was a cat 5 race and windy.

1st or 10th?
I was sorta passively looking for you, but didn't know what kind of bike you were on.
To Steve:
Where were you today? The weather was epic, we waited 2 hours to start, and then the race was canceled 14 miles in due to the weather. Whee. A team mate also broke his collar bone and three ribs during the closing kilo of the 4s earlier in the day...
Good times. Ish.

It's true. I'm a total ****** right now, but at least I'm back riding--albeit recreationally only at this point. Trying to start a new business, working 70 hours per week, gaining 20 pounds, and losing 50 watts isn't my kind of party, but such is life.
And that's why I need better race reports than substructure's lame effort. I'm racing vicariously here, so I need more info.
(Sub: I'm kidding, man. Congrats on a sweet season thus far.)

Saturday crits: two primes, two pack finishes. Next time: screw the prime and save the gas for the finish.
Sunday road race: got dropped from the lead group on the first lap, suffered for 3 more laps, got confused and packed it up when my race still had one more lap. D'oh! Next time: learn how to count.

Sunday, Zamora, right? That wind was a *****. Which category? Mostly done crits 'til now, this was my second RR (cat 4), Same thing happened to me. Spent the first lap in the top 20 riders, got popped off the back of the lead group in the second lap, couldn't recover, couldn't latch onto the second group. Spent lap two chasing the second group. Spent three and four either solo or in 6-10 man echelons that got broken up here and there because many bailed. Bailed after lap 4. Big fat DNF. Next time no giving up.

Saturday, Land Park one of them? Didn't race Saturday, but a teammate got 3rd in the 4s.

As for Zamora, OMG, that wind was holy hell. I was also in the 4s. My first RR. Only done crits before. I bet we were in a group together at least once. I'm on Team City (Red, black, and white kit) and I have a silver Trek.
I was really concerned about the climbing and figured that I'd have an advantage over the skinny guys in the wind. As it turned out, the climbing wasn't the problem, it was the crosswind that just killed me. Are you doing Copperopolis?

Sitting out for Copperopolis - I'm small and kind of skinny but can't climb for dick, yet. We'll have a decent crew there though. I'd watch out for ZTeaM, they brought their A game to Zamora.
I'll be racing the track that day. For the road I'm doing Brisbane next. Then I'm getting married the weekend of Martinez Bayfront but I'll be back for Madera.
