Ergomo Power meters?

What say you? Any good?

I've never heard anyone talk about them on here.

Edited to say the following:

I should use the search functions and look at the recent threads before I post a noobish topic.

My bad!!! (Sorry!)

ffs, do a search.

People who own them love them. People who don't snicker from the sidelines.

Hm...

If I got one, I'd have to put it on my second bike and replace the campy bb/crank with the ergomo bb and a truvativ elita crank in order to stay in budget. I like the 105 external bb crank on my cannondale.

Eh...

PT for a budget. Get a deep profile rim if you want to race, but that can wait for a bit. About $800 on eBay it seems. Only time I wouldn't do PT is if you already have significant $ invested in wheels. That's me - so I went to SRM. Cheaper to do that then to replace 4 or 5 hubs, some of them super low count, as well as some non-PT-able wheels (TriSpoke etc). Now all my wheels are good.

hm i got a pair of ACs 420s, not amazing wheels but i love them.. light, a tiny bit aero, and have been perfectly true even after multiple crashes and god knows how many potholes. I wonder how much it would cost to rebuild the rear wheel with a PT hub?

I'm going to look into a PT this summer, wonder if there's a cheaper way than through ebay... do teams have some sort of discounts on PTs?

For the lazy:

http://bikeforums.net/showthread.php...ghlight=ergomo

This is pretty straightforward and honest debate about the Ergomo. Please carefully read both RacerX and my reviews. We've both owned the major PM's and have a pretty good unbiased reference to how the Ergomo works.

I will say one negative about the ergomo and that's the fact that Fit Mulitsport is the new distributer and so far they have been less than responsive to my inquires. Gita, the old distributer, was fantastic.

There's an auction on ebay that hasn't been bid on yet and is at 250 bucks starting point. There doesn't look to be much interest though.

I'm not sure I'd want to go to isis cranks even on my backup bike, which is currently sitting as a frame haha. Not much backup there.

Though 350ish bucks sounds great for relative power measuring abilities. Eh, I have better things to do with the money, but it's still a cool thought if nothing else.

If it was a campy compatible bb, I'd be pretty interested. Though I guess I should be fine training with HR for a while haha.

A shop in the area told me they'd get me a pt at cost. I actually have no idea what the price would be, all I knew is that it was more than I could afford

Are you suggesting people ever click past the front page before posting? That in itself would be a shock.

To not search or not notice a recent thread is one thing, but to declare that nobody ever talks about it when there was jus a thread about it was kind of silly.

Well I want to get my LOOK down to around 14lbs and with the FSA SRM I can do that. So I'll just swap it between my LOOK and TT bike. I'm keeping the third ergomo for my crit/training bike.

Not really the brand new unit is the same price as a BB only. I'm selling everything including software for 900 bucks. The other unit is competitively priced, it has a brand new computer head and few miles on the BB.

Don't make me smack you!

I'm totally broke haha. Plus, an Ergomo wouldn't work out well since I have two bikes and I'd want to use it on both, so the PT is a better option for me. I don't even know if it's worth it for me to do that until I start being competitive as a 4 atleast.

You'll only become a good 4 when you buy a PM.

Hush you!

I said I'd get a PM once I upgraded.

I don't think I'll be able to upgrade till next year, depending on how I play my cards because I'm going to be abroad for the first two months of summer and there are very few road races in august/sept, which is lame!

I might have to push back my internship for a little bit so I can upgrade. The place I'm working for has given me the option of doing whatever i want as far as time goes as long as I'm there for 2 months straight.

I'd honestly love to buy the ergomo and if I saved up for a bit, I probably could.

Problem is that my cannondale has a shimano 105 outboard bb crank and I can't use it with that. Using the ergomo with my trek would be a waste. I have a centaur crankset on my trek, so technically I could swap cranksets from my trek to the cannondale, but I don't want to run a compact crank on my race bike. Although I could if I went to an 11-26 cassette.

Wait, you guys are terrible!!! I'm a broke college student. Don't do this!!!

The centaur is the gray finish anyway, so it wouldn't match on the cannondale. Hah, there. I can't buy the ergomo because it would make my bike not match. How's that?
