Jose Azevedo, former Once rider will replace Heras. He had gone from Once to Milaneza. But the Posties came calling.

Oh...Bruyneel won "Director of the Year", like it was a contest.

I'd bet that Osipow's phone was ringing off the hook once Heras' departure was announced.

BTW...for those that were speculating on the demise of this team "post-Lance", this is a three year deal.

BTW2...Jose has a 5th and a 6th in grand tours and he can time trial as well as climb.

I know, it took them a long time to pick up a replacement
Although its kind of impossible to totally 'replace' Heras.

Just because it's a 3 year deal, doesn't mean that Postal will still be around, although I think it will be in some form or another.

It's no skin off Postal's back to give Azevedo a three year deal because the amount they would pay Azevedo for the three year contract (supposedly 500-600K euro/year) equals the amount that Liberty Seguros is going to have to pay to buyout Hera's contract.

Now Postal still has to pay Milaneza 450K this year to buyout Azevedo's contract but that's far less that what they would have paid Heras this year (1.3-1.5 mil Euros)

I think that it's a great deal all around for everyone.
