Lud·dite (lŭd'īt) pronunciation
n.

1. Any of a group of British workers who between 1811 and 1816 rioted and destroyed laborsaving textile machinery in the belief that such machinery would diminish employment.
2. One who opposes technical or technological change.

[After Ned Ludd, an English laborer who was supposed to have destroyed weaving machinery around 1779.]
Luddism Lud'dism n.

Read the part you that you chose not to highlight.

As someone who's major was Western Social History (actually double major with Literature being the other) with a focus on proto-industrial and early industrial societies I've run across the term.

For most, Luddism implies not only violent opposition to but destruction of technology.

With that in mind the humour of my post may present itself more clearly.

Just correctin'

haha classic , your comment fits in nicely with a new term I learnt today.

We need to check Chinese translations sometimes at work & one of the guys found a really helpful website: https://www.mdbg.net/chindict/chindic...rst=0&wddmtm=1

An interesting definition part the way down the page.

I hope your company isn't trusting these translation programs to be accurate.

We deal with Chinese companies who use similar programs to go from Chinese to English. It can be very amusing at times.
