Finding Out Who Won at TdG

Being in the race caravan is no guarantee of insider information.
Immediately after today's stage in Gainesville, we waited for Radio Tour (she sits in the car right behind the field in Comm 1) to announcer the winner over Race Radio.
Several minutes passed, so we went to the Finish area and found her standing next to Comm 1's car. As we walked up, she asked US who won.
We didn't know.
So we turned to a group of kids - maybe 11 years old? they didn't look like race fans; they looked like neighborhood kids - and asked them, "Hey, who won?" never expecting them to actually know.

"Henderson" they replied.

If you want a full race report, apparently you have to ask the soccer moms standing on the lawn next to turn one of the circuit.

According to cyclingnews: Duggan is in a stable condition with a broken left collarbone and left scapula, and will remain in hospital overnight for further testing and observation.

I hope he has a full and fast recovery.

Thanks cmh, I didn't see the latest on cyclingnews. Nasty crash.

So what are your thoughts on the race so far, Jamie? What little of it you've been able to take in, anyway.

Seeing him laying there motionless really freaked me. I'm relieved to hear he is in stable condition.

I heard he's conversing. Everyone's at dinner now, so I'm out of communication with those who would know.

My thoughts on the race so far? Ask me tomorrow after the TTT. Everyone is very excited about how that should shake things up. But really, so far it's been fast and even. No one team is dominating.
And we're pleased to see Marco Polo - Trek being active in the racing.

I'm picking Team High Road in the TTT.

I didn't see much of it. I parked our truck on the backside of the circuit and only saw them FLY by at ridiculous speeds.
We rolled in with one of the strangling groups and missed all the hubbub.
And then we bolted for the hotel.

I see in cyclingnews this morning that Duggan sustained a head injury and has some bleeding in his head, but he is improving and the brain swelling is going down.

I guess it may be worse than a couple broken bones. Scary stuff here.
