I raced last night...

In a dream. I didn't know what the heck I was doing and felt lost. I was working my butt off and someone went by me and I tried to latch on to his wheel. I kept internally chanting to myself, hold that wheel...hold that wheel, hold that wheel...

Then I woke up. Don't know how it ended...

But my wife said I was hugging her and holding on to her arm and squeezing it. She said she thinks I was shifting in my sleep (I hadn't told her about the dream yet at that point).

So...ummmm...ok...I think you guys are getting to me and my wife thinks I'm obsessed...

Yet I'm still slow.

That is all.

I had to read that twice just to make sure.

Don't be so hard on yourself man. It doesn't come easy.

You caught him. He blew up at 50m, and you sailed in with 2 bike lengths.

That dream always ends with me waking up just as I hit the pavement.

I like this outcome better

On Friday night I went out and took the old Trek multitrak 730 that I inherited from my father in law (that's too big for me) with the panier and bag in the back to haul stuff in. I took it out to Walgreen (the long way to pick up a couple things. Had regular shorts, cotton t-shirt, hiking boots & white socks on pushing the platform pedals. Totally Fred.

I caught a guy at a stop sign on a road bike. Cross traffic cleared and we took off. I let him clip in and grabbed his wheel (not really all that close). We were doing about 18 mph when he looked back and saw me and he clicked it up a notch about 20 mph or so. I kicked it up and held on. He looked back a little surprised and kicked up again to about 22-23 mph. So did I. Then we hit my subdivision. Quick look over the shoulder, no traffic coming I passed him on the left, hit the left turn lane and turned in and told him, "have a nice ride".

The whole thing only lasted about a half mile, but I did have some fun with him. OK...he looked older than me, but he had a nicer bike!

I'm sure he was on a recover ride

Dreams are like pictures, if I'm not in them and nobody's having sex, then I don't really care.
