Contador he phone home

Lemme get this straight. Little Al was doing beer bongs with the hoochies a week ago, gained 3 pounds on his massive 130 pound TTing physique, and has a cracked elbow whilst putting 12 seconds into Kloden's effort?
That little focker is borderline E.T. dialing super long distance to his outerspace brethren.

The Giro is notable for small climbers putting in unbelievable TT performances. Pantani closed the deal by taking 2nd in the final TT in '98. Hamilton was another small guy yet could pull out winning TT performances after struggling in the race. And Cunego, who was historically a horrible TT rider secured the white jersey in the TDF in '04 by getting 10th, beating out guys like Millar and Rodgers.

It's all about heart and desire.

Well looking at the top 30 or so, some climbers have done pretty good. Rujano is half the size of contador and he is ONLY 3 mins back.. Sella and Piepoli lost only a couple of mins as well. Then again...

You wonder why we're seeing so many dead horses?

Well here in the big city we don't have to deal with the dead horse problem on our roads. There are however a subset of Mercedes drivers who seem to have no peripheral vision I'd like beat to death.

The blue light from their Borg bluetooth headsets blinds them on one side.

: PAUSE :

gentlemen, have you looked at the actual profile of todays TT?

not your typical TT course. more of an uphill TT.

i'll avoid pointing fingers (for now), considering that Contador does happen to have some ability as a climber. Believe it or not.

Knowing now that Poultry was on EPO, which has shown up to a 15% increase in performance for endurance athletes, it was truly remarkable that he could even keep up.

Never said he was on dope, the horses yes. But not him. Just noting some similar performances by other athletes.

Do we know that Rasmussen was on EPO? I hadn't heard that news...

No, I got pretty sick 3 weeks before Devils Punchbowl and it really knocked me on my arse. It was on my schedule as priority race but I'm now where near fit enough to even bother. I'm doing the CBR Crit in Long Beach on Monday as tune up for the June crit weekend. Are you doing either San Fernando or Glendale?

It was leaked, by the French media, through the French-media-owned laboratory, that Rasmussen was on a synthetic bovine-EPO cocktail. They had done some experimental testing and found that in his blood, I guess. However, it wasn't illegal at the time, I'm pretty sure.
