Your time trial wheelset
Anyone run a "more aero" front than rear wheel? I've only seen one person do such a thing.
Currently, I'm using a HED Alps front with an 808 rear. I'm debating between a 1080 and an 808 to replace the Alps.

I use an old Specialized Tri-Spoke rear wheel for my front wheel, and what ever wheel I have laying around for my rear. You can convert the old free wheel tri spokes to front wheels by filing the axle square in two opposite places (parallel) to fit front fork drop outs.
Curious as to why you ask? Because I thought having the front wheel (leading edge) more aero is the generally accepted better way.

It's better to have the more aero wheel in front, but obviously less stable in crosswinds.
I run a 404 front and CXP33/Ptap/Wheelcover rear. No idea which is more aero.

i run the wheels that came on my bike since buying the bike made me poor. mavic ksyrium elite's. best wheels ive ever had though. once of these days i will upgrade. maybe i can win the money to pay for them! hahahahh!

Because the front wheel requires a compromise between stability and aerodynamics. The rear rarely has that problem, although when I was 120 lb I didn't dare run a disk in 30-40 mph winds.

I am going to try a Jet 90 / Jet 60 combination this season. Last year I ran a standard Hed disc / tri spoke. All the gear stuff gets hilarious at a certain point; but you have to check wiki or other cycling history sources to get a laugh out of it. Just wiki Ole Ritter and think about what he did on a 32 spoke job with no skinsuit, no booties, no woodpecker-helmet, no disc, no...
In 1967 he became professional in Italy with the Germanvox-Wega team and his career took off. He won the individual time trial in the Giro d’Italia in front of Rudi Altig, Eddy Merckx and Jacques Anquetil.
In 1968 he went to Mexico City before the Olympic Games and beat the hour record. He was the first rider to take the record at altitude since Willie Hamilton in 1898. He covered 48,653km and it took fouryears and Eddy Merckx to beat it (49,431 km in 1972).
In 1974 at the age of 33 he went to Mexico again and beat his own record twice in a week, with 48,739 and 48,879km.
