Lower your seat to minimize ankle flex and get back on the bike

Sorry to hear it. Ankle sprains can be a really nagging injury.

Heck, good pain meds make the couch itself entertaining.

I don't even have those anymore

I never felt a high from morphine or from oxycodone though.

I've had two injuries in my life that justified morphine. I never felt 'high' as such but I was one very contented camper.

I can understand why those who need it for extender periods, due to very serious injuries, can become addicted. The absolute calm and contentment certainly has an allure.

The doctor gave me the standard, couch-potato recovery window of 6 weeks.

There's no pain now and the swelling is going down. It already feels fairly stable but I'm going to take it easy for a few days to be safe. After than a little rehab.

As snuff said, ankles can be a naggin' injury and I'm already married.

This is what happens when bike racers begin to believe that they have the skills to participate in "sports" that require a ball and stick. This includes golf. Stay away from these activities.

Having an ankle that has a limited range of motion, please...ice the heck out of it then make sure you get some rehab. While you're doing all that get well.

I love this quote.

Bob: Heal well. Take it slow and make sure you get it right.
