it's surprising how low their cadences are. I remember reading Cancellara averaged 113rpm when he won the WC

There is likely a lot of coasting since this is a team TT.

He was one of the first to drop off. Makes sense his average power is lower.

Does anyone else find it nutty that the lineup warrants having a "National TT Champion" column? Awesome.

I was thinking that too. I read the column heading first, and rolled my eyes. Then I looked down and realized that 33% of them were positive for National TT Championship-ness.

When I first saw this all I could think about was how I could smoke Vande Velde in a time trial then I realized it was a team time trial.

More impressive - only six nationalities. Three championships.

I'm just amazed that there is a pro cyclist that weighs 12 lbs more than me and we are even the same height. He puts out a wee bit more power though......

These stats are dangerous. I should really try to eat better and drop 5 lbs (I'm 155 at 5' 10ish).

With numbers like that, why on earth isn't Dave Z a better climber?

Dave is a great climber, but when pitted against pro cyclists who ARE climbers, not so much.

I have never seen him being supported by them team on the climbs as the primo GC guy. He seems to ride in support all the time.

Trueish, he did finish 5th in the Dauphine last year.

Is this info available on a website? I'm at work and most of the time pictures do not show up....oh wait, it looks like it was something that was scanned, guess I'll just look when I get home.

Reportedly, Dave Z can't take the pain. Literally. He can't suffer to the degree required to be a GC contender.

Nice.

I dont think I could at 6' tall ever get as low on wieght as Zabriski or Pate. 6'/147 is like Kate Moss skinny.

I'd be happy to get close to 170.

I can relate to the not being able to suffer thing. Which is strange for a TT guy like Dave Z. TT is about pain.

I guess it could have something to do with not being able suffer as much as the others after a 5 hours on the saddle and an HC in your legs already? Not sure still.
