I raced.
Saturday race, 3:45PM start. 97F. I attacked from the gun and kept trying to make breaks happen for most of the race, but nothing stuck. At least I put on a good show for the spectators.
Sundays race, 3:30PM start. Cooler, probably only 95F but humid and windy. Fast course, lots of $hitty bike handling, so I just sat around waiting for $hit to happen until the final sprint, confirming that I can't sprint. Two guys wanted to break out into a fistfight over their poor bike handling after the race.

I can't imagine racing in FLA this time of year. I'd shoot myself (or just die on the tarmac). At least there aren't any huge hills by you.

How was the course in JD State Park? I grew up in Hobe Sound, and wanted to come down for the race, but two weekends in a row wasn't happening.

So, Ken, are you racing both age and Cat next weekend? I'll probably bike down from Gainesville to watch some of the racing on one of the days.
And I hope that it cools off some. It has been HOT, but not quite as hot as last year for the State road champs. That was brutal!
