TT Bike Test Flight

Rode the TT bike for the first time since April with that new TT position I dialed in after my abortion of a TT @ Sandy Hook (the one with the abysmal position). New position is not only more aero and faster (I averaged 23.5 mph over a 17 mile training route, about 1 mph faster than my previous best) but considerably more comfortable. Haven't changed it since these photos:

I now wear official cycling socks, that's probably it. I had to shift off my sore elbows now and again, but generally I had a significantly easier time holding the aero position than in the past.

Enough of this Kum Bay Ya MTB crap, time for a road race. Saturday, Prospect Park for all you NY City Pcad Stalkers.

Dr. W. would average 23.5 mph climbing Mt. Washington.

bdcheung 07-09-08 05:42 PM

STFU BD.

Besides, I'm skinnier now.

I hope that 17mph had some hills.

23.5 mph CK. That's a little slower than 24 mph, but a little faster than 23 mph. Half as fast as Dr. W, twice as fast as Chipcom. To put it in terms botto might understand (expatriate traitor that he is), 38 km/h. Add full Zipps, an aero helmet a little race adrenaline and some carefully masked EPO, and we might be talking 24 mph+ in an actual TT.

Fly, Pcad, fly. You are an inspiration to those who aspire to mediocrity everywhere.

For some of us, the pursuit of mediocrity is reaching for the stars. To elevate one's self to mediocrity is to increase the distance between your Road Nazi Pack Fodder ass and DFL (Dead Friggin Last), and that is the path to Pcad Cycling Zen.

You're old. You need more flexibility, like, say, me.

...except that's actually pretty bad, and has since been improved on, upon finding that I mis-set my saddle after shipping the bike back from Gila.

Scummer 07-10-08 11:35 AM

That saddle position... wow. Good thing you had your bibs on.

Remember, in a TT it's all about focus.

It seems you have none.

:)
