Raced today and I felt like crap. The air made it twice as hard... I felt like I was smoking a pack of cigarettes. These fires need to frickin' die out... I feel so slow

I agree. My brother lives an hour north of here near Mendocino county and took a long vacation hoping the smoke would leave. Now he wants to spend some time with me as my home gets coastal fog/breezes part time.

The air down here in SoCal is not so good. I'm wondering if the high humidity and air quality is partly due to the fires up there.
Went inland today for some hills and I felt like crap about 5 miles in. Air was heavy, with only moderate heat at 9 AM (80).
Finished up along the beach and can't say the humidity/air quality was any better.
Very high clouds with a 10+ UV rating. Weird day and past week, for that matter.

It's bad all around. I live about 20 miles from Big Sur, so for a couple days last week, the smoke was so thick I could have sworn there was a fire only a mile away. Really makes working out a challenge.

Don't mince words
We're getting that Butte County smoke. Not pretty or healthy. But you train outside or in, according to your preferences. Yeah, a freak rain storm would be awesome right now, but it won't happen. B!tchin' about it won't make it better. Either ride in it or don't.
