The 2008 Cat 3 MABRA District Crit Champion is ....

Brandun Lumm, I got beat again. Silver medal for me. 2 weeks in a row, 2 2nd places (2 different winners).

He had an awesome leadout, I had no team mates. I knew he was a contender but thought I was on a better wheel on the last lap. There were 3 riders between me and him with about 400 to go, they all had either no jump or blew up, lost his wheel when things got ramped up, I had too much ground to make up. If the finish would have been another 20M, I might have gotten him, but then again, someone behind might have gotten me if that were the case.

District RR championships this coming weekend, maybe ... just maybe.

So when do you upgrade man?

Looking strong. If you hate racing in the 2s, it's not like you can't downgrade later

No no no. You're talking to Mr. 6th place himself here! With a few well placed podiums I still plan on upgrading with the bulk of my resume being 6th places

You picked a good race to avoid. Lots of crashing in all the mens races. The womens, not so much. Luckily everyone got up and walked away or got back in the race. The wheel pit was very busy all day.

Nice job MD. Keep riding like that and you'll be racking up wins soon. Good luck at your district RR.

Congrats on your good work yesterday. No wonder I didnt see you. You were up front all the time.

Looks like you'll get 8 weeks to prepare for your win. The Coppi race was postponed to September.

Obviously better than you and me.

My wife works for Dreyer's. They make Edy's, Haagen Dass, Starbucks, Nestle, etc. The employee discount is awesome. I cant eat the stuff fast enough to keep ahead of the bi-weekly order and she's limited to 4 cases of product! Example, I case of Haagen Daas is 8 pints. I case of Haagen Daas Ice Cream bars is 12 boxes (3 per box). I case of Starbucks quarts is 4 quarts. And I case of Edy's or Dreyer's 1.5 quarts is 6. The next order is due Thursday. I've got a case of Edy's French Vanilla on this one and I still have half cases left of Haagen Daas Mango and Vanilla ice cream pints and about 10 boxes of bars. Sheesh! I need a bigger freezer.

Its amazing that my weight is dropping. I'm a pound or so above 200 and going down. Must be the 40+ mile per day average.

(insert race plug here)
MABRA folks - since the Coppi course is getting repaved - come down to Richmond for the Bryan Park Circuit Race. Park setting, plenty of shade, closed course.

Kudos!

There's a lot of guys out there racing who will never see a podium in their entire career. First, Second, Third. Any one is a pretty damn good result in my book.
