I have a road race the day before but am considering driving out to Bear Mtn depending on how my legs feel.
BTW, concerning safety, if the road is open to cars....some of the scariest moments I have had have been overtaking slower riders in time trials on roads that are open to traffic. It's not likely that you would crash into another bike though (been there - done that - criterium!).
Hopefully the promoters have dealt with the issue and cars will not be a (major) problem.

Cars in Harriman this late in the year are not a problem. Enjoy. I will be flying back from chicago that day and so will miss the race.
