Yeah, does it spin at a fixed cadence or is it effective over a broad range?

edit: I misread your post - you are talking about when it is disengaged. I think most customers would probably ride with it engaged all the time.

If they do it right, you can recharge the battery on the way down. We need some Toyota engineers working on this.

What, you don't ride fixed gears up and down mountains?

In either case pedaling on a downhill to store energy is probably a good idea, assuming decent discharge/recharge efficiencies.

Not really, it already has the batteries. If you're talking about using it for rollers you might be better off with capacitor energy storage.
