Is there a way to see what dates the spikes came from without searching through every file?

under the "Chart Setting" tab, you should see when the highest record was set.

then, for that file, go to editor and search for values say greater than 1500 to locate the spike

That worked, I couldn't fix the power spike, but I was able to delete the ride.

Looking at my numbers, what do I need to work on? I prefer road races but they are rare here so I do a handful of crits as well.
The power data is from numerous group rides, some solo rides, and some sufferfest videos on the trainer (no races) got the powertap after the season ended.

I spent the last offseason focusing on base miles and logged a few thousand 'miles' on the rollers. I want to do more power work this offseason, but am unsure exactly how to go about it and what exactly to focus on.

Just finished second year of road racing, only been riding at all for 2.5 years. I weigh 68kg.
The quotes are where I fall in the "Training and Racing with a Powermeter" scale.

1s - 1003w - 14.75w/kg
5s - 969w - 14.25w/kg - "Cat 4"
30s - 502w - 7.38w/kg
1m - 390w - 5.73w/kg - "Untrained - Non-Racer"
5m - 257w - 3.77w/kg - "Cat 4"
20m - 207w - 3.04w/kg
1h - 181w - 2.66w/kg

I would say FTP, then 5-min power.

Have you done any actual tests?

Agreed. You really need to test, too.

I did the torturous 20 minute test in the book. It put my FTP at 195w or 2.86w/kg.
I did it on a trainer, so it's possible that the value is a little low due to the mental factor.

That sounds low. Trainers are harder both because its tough mentally and because you overheat. Do the test on the road.

You need to test or at the very least use values from races where you know you went all out for the time period. For example, the 60 min power isn't useful if you didn't do 60 min all out. That's why many people have a low 1 min value- unless you set out to do 1 min intervals you probably won't have an all out 1 min intervals in your regular riding/racing.

It's more than mental. It's bad air, the relentlessness of the trainer, poor cooling. I'd start at 10% higher than your test. How many weeks out is your first race? If you have 12-16 weeks and do not want to go with a coach or prepaid training plan, just use the training plan in the Coggan Powermeter book. It is geared towards improving FTP.

I have a pretty decent fan set up to help with the cooling, but I still get pretty hot during intense intervals.

The first race of next season isn't until March, so I've got plenty of time to train.

I haven't made it all the way through the book yet. I was hoping to kind of make my own plan using the book and various SufferFest videos.
I have limited quantity of time to train so I want to get the most out of it. I can train 60-90 minutes during the business day, and then another two workouts during a couple evenings (While the wife is at zumba). And I can get in 3-4 hours over the weekend. Unfortunately most of it will be indoors. First because it works best with my work schedule, and second because our winters are pretty bad in terms of wind/snow/temp.

There's not a fan made that's equivalent to riding outside. Try the sample plan.

All kidding aside that is some good power from you little punk. My teammate's curve looks similar (he just turned 18) though he is a little bigger (170 pounds). He has come just shy of hitting 2,000 watts in a training sprint (1,964 I think) though is starting to realize that an absolute number doesn't win sprints for the line
Keep up the good work little buddy.
