i know there can be much mystery around swapping cranks, but i can perform some crank swaps very quickly (a minute or so with a specialized crankset...one bolt), possibly faster than swapping cassettes. not trying to sway you in any way, but i think you may have more options than you otherwise might think.
ferret-- what frames do you have -- or, more to the point, what bottom brackets do they have?
in general, you can ALWAYS run a shimano (or other 24mm) crank, but it may require adapters. cranks with 30mm axles (bb30) are less compatible across frames.
10s rings are a non-issue between shimano and campy.
Does anyone else get a really short life out of their G3 hub? I've heard the G2 has 2 batteries but the G3 only has 1, and I swear I am lucky to get 100hours out of it. There is also no sign of it about to die, once I had a "low battery" warning on my garmin about 30 seconds before it died, but otherwise it just quits at random. If it was simple to change like the stages battery I wouldn't care, you can change those mid ride.
@johnk, I once replaced a battery with no luck and ended up just reseating it and it came alive. May be dirty, who knows.

Sweet ill give that a try. I thought about updating but had this feeling that I'd update it and it would be dead afterward.
Maybe the update will give me some higher power numbers too, which is so much easier than training.
Just got a Powertap G3 generic wheelset with Joule GPS off ebay. Ran me $753 + $86 tax/shipping. Now I just need a bike to put them on...
After spending 840, I'll probably want to keep the bike to under $1800, so looks like I won't be getting anything too fancy after all
what size. team lists always have people selling.
I've been searching ebay and everything I want is in the ~$2500 range
Of course, I don't NEED anything in that range, so I opted for power instead.
Demain, on roule!
10 speed Di2.
Got the Quarq yesterday, installed it, did a quick 15 minute trainer session and everything works.
Now my ribs just need to heal up so I can ride like normal again and do an ftp test
Cervelo S2 frameset (saddle, post, BB, headset included) - floor model, one owner never ridden $1375 with shipping.
6700 group - new/lightly used - $725
3T Ergosum Team bars (aerobar compatible for an eventual TT) - $157
105 pedals - $65
powertap G3 wheelset + computer - $840
Total $3140 plus stem, cables/housing, bar tape, time, more time, and more time.
That's a good $600 more than I was planning for so I better love this bike!

That's a pretty good deal Aaron; be sure to post pics here when its done!
I've pretty much decided on the Vector. Not sure if I'll get it now or in December.
