my season is finally over!

My first race was march 15th and my last was today. I have a couple more cross races in january and february but they will be for fun since I will not be training for them.

Now I have a week or two off the road bike for the most part then I head to phoenix for a week and a half of joy riding on the road bike and some mountain biking.

When I get back the first week of January I need to seriously figure out how to go about next season because this was borderline too much. It sucks that my favorite races are in the spring and fall.

Maybe take a week or so off between road and cross season? It might mean giving up a few good races, but you might be in a better place if you do.

I would take at least 2-3 weeks in July or early August and make them completely unstructured. No racing either. Ride when you want, for as long as you want, as hard as you want. Probably at least one week with no riding at all.

If you're going to have a season that long, you have to take a big break somewhere in the middle.
