I was there - it was awesome!!

Was very cool seeing Hincapie and Voigt dragging the pack round at various points! Lance did his post race interview in front of us. We dont normally get names this big here so it was a bit surreal.

Note the winner of the first two primes, Jack Bobridge. That's a name you will be hearing more and more of in the future!!

I'm psyched that McEwen won.

Good for him!

As cocky as he is, I really like him. I think he's one of my favorite riders. I kind of idolize the guy a tad. Heh.

Bobridge road a 4.18 4000m pursuit at the Oceania championships recently. Impressive.

Apparently his VO2 max is in the high 80's.

You know the racing must be hard if ol' Jens Voigt has his "I'm going to eat your children while you watch" face in full effect!

I found Lance being able to call off the helicopters interesting.

"Armstrong asked race director Mike Turtur during the race to have a helicopter flying overhead pushed back. The American thought the helicopter's proximity further complicated issues for the lead group, which was already battling windy conditions."

Interesting?

He's Lance Armstrong, he pisses excellence and *****s gold!

But seriously, I think its pretty cool, and I wonder if that's something the riders have always wanted to do and no one has actually done it yet (radioing in and complaining about helicopters).

Lance could probably radio in that the other riders are bothering him and they have to ride behind him - they would do it!

Found some excellent Jens comments on Velonews TV today. They got various riders to narrate the climb of Walunga Hill and Jens was second up.

https://velonews.tv/?articleID=2577

Such gems as
"total carnage people going everywhere"
"complete nightmare...nightmare full of pain"
and
"after all i'm only human"

Jens is f'ing awesome.
