When is your first race of 2009?

So I know some of you in warmer climates have already started racing. But for the rest of us who stuck in the frigid winter temps of the NE, when is your first race?

Mine will be at Rugers University on March 7, but I may jump the gun early and race Prospect Park on Feb 28...

I've already done an indoor TT this year, and have 3 or so more on the schedule, but the first real race is March 15th. Kenosha spring "practice" crit series. Spring Super Crit in South Beloit March 28th.

Big Road Race - Hillsboro-Roubaix the next weekend on April 4.

Then Kenosha stuff got snowed out last year. With weather this time of year there's no telling when my first "real" race of this year will be. I hope it's before July.

Never heard of it. Do you have a link.
Though it's highly unlikely I'll be there. I'm not pushing it yet. Mrs Sub has already told me she's not happy with my race calendar.

The "warden" is not going to be issuing as many furloughs as I wanted up here either.

Here is the link. aka Orange County Speedway series.

Going to go to CDR's bethel on the 1st of march. And then possibly both bethel and plainville the following week.

I think I go on spring break right after that. I'm thinking of heading down to Va beach for two weeks and 'living like a pro' and staying with family, riding 3-4 hours every day, and racing on the weekends. Or possibly just riding a LOT so I can come back take a day or two easy and then come back to bat with a new level of fitness.

The racing before the training 'camp' is a must. My threshold for pain will increase significantly after two weekends of racing.

Cherry Pie is an optional race for me - I'll do it if the weather is unseasonably nice, otherwise I'll skip it.

March 1, Banana Belt Series is my first real race.

Thanks. The road race is becoming very popular, registration is filling up. I was riding with the organizer today and he said they've already sold 15 spots in a third cat 5 field and the cat 4 field is 3/4 full just in online reg.

Jan 31st. Speedway race (unless we have our handling clinic that day, in which case it'll be the week after, Feb 7th)

First collegiate race is Wolfpack Cycling Classic (home race) on Feb 14/15.

Feb 28, Oval crit @ home (CSU).

Maybe Valley of the Sun 2 weeks earlier. Not sure if I can afford to make the trip though, both financially and because of school.
