Tour Of Qatar (Spoiler-sort of)

Boonen-1
Cavendish-1

I'm looking forward to this season between these two. I guess Cavendish could have won stage two also if he didn't get a flat with 1200 meters to go.

that's a pretty heft assumption there about Stage 2

Sorry, I meant stage 3. That wasn't my opinion really. I'm going by what Cyclingnews wrote:

"Briton Mark Cavendish made the winning move, but a flat tyre with 1200 metres to go spoilt his chance for victory."

I think CN is saying the flat ruined his opportunity - i.e. chance - for victory, not that it robbed him of an assured victory.

I've been following Qatar more than I ever have, but it's mainly to check in on Mike Friedman.

Cavendish certainly got cheeky today:

"Apart from being a victory over Tom Boonen, it was certainly a victory over myself," said the Isle of Man cyclist, winner of four stages in last year's Tour de France (VeloNews)

Did anyone see him straight after the finish?!?

He was almost crying, repeating "Where's my helper? I need my helper!"

I thought "Oooh, Wiggins is on another team now Mark," then I realised he meant his soigneur...
