Skin Suits and Rules
So, I used to race for a local team here in TX that is now defunct. I know I have to get new jersey's and shorts that so not show any sponsorship etc. And I'm cool with that because in a road race that makes sense. However, I have a sweet skinsuit with the old race team stuff on it that I want to Time Trial in this year, as an unattached rider. I really don't want to buy a new one, but, I don't want to get grief from any officials either. Has anyone in TX ever gotten crap from an official for TT'in in a "no longer in existence team" skin suit? For you TX people, it's Fayettevile in particular I'm referencing (my favorite stage race).

I know of folks who have done USCF TTs in old US Postal Nike "Swiftskin" skinsuits...and they didn't get any grief for it from the officials.
If you want to be sure, though, it wouldn't hurt to find out the email of the district rep and just ask...

1N5(b) Advertising may appear only on the uniform, including caps, shoes, and helmet of riders who are racing members of sponsored clubs [disqualification for other advertising]
Thus if there is advertising on the skin suit, you can't wear it riding unattached. That said, I seriously doubt anyone would say anything.
Around here the rule is routinely violated in lower categories.
