Who's going to Tuesday Nighter in Austin?

My understanding is that it starts on the first Tuesday after Daylight Savings Time begins. I'm heading over there. Anyone else?

I'll be there. Let's hope the weather cooperates!

Actually scratch that - if it's gonna rain, I'd rather have it rain now and stay dry on Thursday for the crits!

Note to self...don't accidentally try to latch onto the back of the A group when you're a crappy cat 5 racer.

Is there anywhere one could go to get info on the weekly Austin area rides/race simulations? I have a teammate who is going to be coming to Austin on Monday for the week, he will be interviewing for jobs as he will be moving there in May. He is looking for some rides while he's there...

Simulations?? From what I've discovered, most group rides happen on the weekends...There is an unofficial Tuesday night training race...there is a Thursday night crit at the Driveway...I've read that WaterRockets does killer hill climbing on Tuesdays (or maybe the days vary)...races and lots of group/team rides on weekends, e.g., Violet Crown, Austin Flyers, AustinTriCyclist has a Saturday ride that lets you know where you stand...here's one calendar that I've seen...

Yeah I would call a "unofficial" race a simulation. There are no entry fees, insurance, points, etc. I mean we have a "Tuesday Night World's" ride here that isn't a race by definition, so I would call it a simulation of a race. Maybe a training race would have been a better term, although we have training races here that provide insurance and charge entry fees? He's not looking for group rides but was interested in the Tuesday and Thursday night events. He is planning to do the Fayetteville event on his way back, at least Saturdays portion. Thanks for the links bg!

Thaxton Rd at Alum Rock. 6:00 pm for the A ride, 6:05 for the Bs. It's a 9-mile loop, three or four laps.

Best way to get out there is to ride. There is a group that goes from downtown around 5:00.

thanks - as I will have to check that out, but might do some more agressive group rides first to be ready.
