Sprint Determines Criterium Event!

A google search for "criterium sprint" turned up this gem of an article. I think it is safe to presume the author is not a cyclist.

To the contrary, I think it's safe to assume the author is a cyclist. Did you read the article?

I will say that the author got a little cycling-buzzword happy. What with "...the hammer down, mixing it up, head of the pack, found his rhythm, etc." But really nothing worthy of a thread. oh well.

When cedric logs on again, he'll point out the glaringly obvious aspect to the article, and we'll all feel dumb.

But then we'll rejoice in the prescence of cedric, for leading us out of the darkness.

^^it's better than the fellow named "Crack"... though I guess it was appropriate given the results.

I think it's the Headline writer who is likely not the Cyclist.

I bet ya that story is straight from what someone from the club wrote up and sent into the paper.

The headline writer who put the headline on it probably didn't realize that Crits are usually won in a sprint.

And the Club should be happy they got a story in the paper. The Jacksonville Cycling Classic used to be an NRC event, with top name domestic teams from around the country. The local paper gave us Zero coverage (and City Government killed the event to boot.)

Sure, the headline is lame. But the actual author showed he actually understood at least the bare minimum of racing.

A safer guess would be that English is not their first language.
