Wow. My current FTP is set at 290 watts. I can only 'theoretically' hold that for 1 hour.

There are no words for how ridiculous is is to average nearly 300 watts for 6+ hours. That is off the friggin hinges boys.

That's why he is George Hincapie, and you're not.

I averaged 290 watts for a 20 min TT. That's what I had. That makes my FTP about 260. What's George's friggin FTP? 500? Good grief.

It really is unbelievable. Not just George, but other pros, and even guys here like Dr. WJO and RacerEx. If I wasn't so stupid I'd quit riding immediately.

Yeah 6'3" but only 165 pounds. I'm 6' 3"+ but at 185. He averaged 3.87 Watts per kilogram on that ride. I'm still shaking my head.

They're not riding around for 6 hours at 290 watts, based on the various training updates I've come across via personal websites and twitter tweets.

How about at 290, like 'Big' George.

I wonder what 'Big' Jens Voight does. How long until the 'Big' tweet tweet thing blows over? Lance just tweeted that he's picking up his dry cleaning.

Tweeter has been around for a few years now. It has recently reached the tipping point. It will be here for a while.

George has not only won a lot of big races in his day (including a Tour de France stage) he has successfully completed something like 11 Tours, and I do believe he is always in the top 1/3 of the field, finishing as high as 14th in the G.C. Hardest working man in bike racing. He's also a big man (175 lbs) for a bike racer, so I doubt there are too many guys cranking more watts than George.

From what their investors have said, they have a business model ready to launch; they're just waiting for the right time.

though who knows what amount of truth is in that statement.

Indicating that there are stronger guys out there who win more and bigger races and i wonder what their power is is obfuscation? I kind of think it's you, not me.

Over the course of a career as long as Hincapie's? Not really too many g. He's had a helluva run. My major point is that if there are pros stronger than George, they are marginally stronger. Of course the difference between 14th in the G.C. and podium at the Tour is that margin, but it's not a big one. In other words if George averages 290 watts for 6+ hours, my guess the strongest pro on the planet averages 300 or 310. In other words, I'm sure George is pretty friggin close to that.
