I took the day off from training. My foot was real sore and I was real tired from a late night.
We got up, went to church, came home, and went to bed for a long nap.
Still deciding about what races I might do the next 3 weekends.

who else feels that they need to use more chamois cream when they ride indoors then outdoors. i never normally use it, but when im on the trainer (i think its because of all the sweat) i get saddle sores alot easier.

With more indoor training I find that I develop a little more rashiness and need to take care of it better.
I think because I'm seated a lot more and there's less air flowing through my nether region.

Yeah, I figured it wouldn't surprise you. I'd never really thought about it before, but it obviously makes sense.
In other news, I had a horrible day on the water. Got rigged fine. Got the boat in the water fine. The wind was off the shore so I decided to wait until I got away from shore a bit, then go head to wind and put the clew hook through the sail.
Easier said than done. Wind was supposed to be 12 mph, ended up more like 18 with gusts to 25 or something. Couldn't get head to wind, every time I got close a gust came and blew me around. Boom kept falling off the gooseneck, it was awful. Eventually I capsized, not sure how without a sail on. Pro tip: drysuits work better when you zip them the WHOLE way.
Ended up righting the boat, but couldn't get in. After much struggling and freezing, and losing a glove (took it off to tie a knot, lost it in the capsize), a powerboat came along and thankfully gave me a tow in.
Jeez. I'm wiped out. At least I didn't drown.
Oh, and when I put my knee down in the cockpit I heard a distinct crack. Yeah, it's delaminating pretty badly. I got screwed on that boat I think. Thought I got a good deal, turned out it wasn't so good.

very interesting times in the Middle East and North Africa now that the masses seem to have had enough and they're not going to take it anymore. It's exciting because it could be a change to western hegemony in the region, same goes for the movements in S.America to break away from US policies.

Finally back and settled from the NCSU race weekend.
wow, I had a blast! Easily one of my most fun racing weekends to date. Just a blast overall. Can't wait until next weekend!
One thing I did notice is that collegiate fields seem to splinter much quicker than usac fields. Just something I need to keep in mind in the future. Time to rally and do some lin alg homework now!

I don't want to start a "Racing Failure" thread, so I'll put this here.
Last Sunday I was pretty sick (hacking up some nasty stuff), but I had already paid my $'s to enter and the race was local. I decided to show up anyway and give it a go. That is not the failure part.
On the first lap of the crit I'm spinning like mad and just keeping up. I'm thinking "WTF? I'm not feeling good, but this is just weird." During the second lap I look down and I'm in the small chain ring. I felt so stupid. Still do.

Some of it has to do with slightly smaller field sizes, and I think the rest of it has to do with us kids having more balls and nervous energy then middle aged cat 4's...
I'm reading race reports by alot of my old teammates and friends in WCCC and almost wished that I flunked a class so I could have one more season.

half of Collegiate D's can stand to lose some weight, and maybe 1/4-1/3 of collegiate C's, too

I was thinking that there was a better way to put that, because I think grown men possess a higher ability to suffer, which is certainly a component of having balls.
But we can get pretty hot-headed and gutsy out there with our youth fosho.
EDIT: and fat too
