Thanks guys.
Hope so. Unfortunately I made a lot of the same mistakes with this one. The crazy ones seem to seek me out with an animal magnetism. It's not as good as you'd think.
Looking forward to having some extra emotional fuel to burn for a while during training/races.

Making a kilometer blurry
You just need to find the right kind of crazy. Crazy generous. Crazy kindness. Crazy focused. You know.
I'm thinking that might be a great place to store my chainsaw.
Keep it lubed with some really red bar oil and sprinkle it with hair cuttings.
Next to a box of meat packing paper.
And a shovel.

Booked travel to Corfu at the end of the month. Avoided any flights/airlines involving 737's not because I'm scared of them ripping open in flight, but scared that they might all be grounded pending inspection and hence screwing up travel arrangements. It should be fun, but no bike so training will suffer.

Back around Thanksgiving I broke up with my partner of 5.5 years, who I thought I was going to be with forever. I couldn't imagine a life without her. I'm kind of dating casually now but mostly I am enjoying my time alone, training my ass off (and whenever I feel like it), going to whatever races I want to, spending the whole day in bed if I'm tired or staying out all night if that's what kind of mood I'm in and having no one to report back to. It's pretty great.

Parents just flew home from Chicago on SWA and lived to tell the tale. Wife will be on SWA twice this week and I made a lame joke on her FB page about whether the life insurance was paid up.

That's what I'm doing right now and it's freaking AWESOME. Seriously. It sucked at first but I am happier now than I've ever been, and I'm always pretty damn happy.

Makes for a great view.
Keep your seatbelt on, though.

Had a bad talk with the boss today. Apparently me not coming in often enough (since there's no work and I have insomnia (which he knows)), being "detached" and not enthusiastic about my work (not sure where he got that from), and spending too much time on the internet.
I also got passed (for now) on that job that I wanted because the other manager asked and my boss told him I'm not that reliable. Uggh. At least I got a free lunch out of it, and now I know. I didn't really realize it was that bad. I figured as a contractor they'd rather me not come in than come in and sit around doing nothing, apparently they'd rather me come in and ask for stuff to do, and create work, lol.
I guess I haven't been that engaged lately (because most of what I do is boring, and there isn't enough of it). I'm gonna make a real effort. He said I'm still in contention for that position once it gets posted, but he's gonna try to hold off posting it until I've proven myself for a little while and the other manager will consider me.

You are young. You have no track record at this point. The only thing others can judge you by is what you are doing and how dedicated you are to the work. Bust your hump to stay busy and always ask for work when you have down time. If the managers can't find you work they at least know you are slacking because you have done all you have to do, not because you are bored.
