3 races in that heat the day after doing the Tour de Moore - sub, damn, just damn. Good to meet you.

Once again, a great venue. I saw truckin but didn't get a chance to say hey. 6th and DFL. My body make-up is more suited to racing on an ice pack instead of almost 90 deg heat this early in the season. The melting tar in the corners made for some interesting turns. Every ascent of the finish line stretch was like a kick to groin by a 5 year old. After about 10 they really start to bother you. Badly. And then I see ljrichar standing up at the front of the pack on the next pass. Arrgh. “He’s trying to kill me. I’m gonna make him walk home.”

Did anyone mention that it was hot? In the second race, I got spit OTB after about 25 minutes. I caught up with straggler and asked if he wanted to work together to make it less miserable. He stated he was going to drop out. I then said ”C’mon it’s only 15 minutes more.” We worked together, picked up another casualty and they proceeded to drop me. Should have let the bastige quit.

Next year I'm going for a suicidal four race day. 30+, 40+, 4/5 and 3/4.

Good to meet you too.

I'm still dizzy - and fried like a corn dog.

Tell her that your goal is to have Charlie Brown and David LaDuc asking you to ease up during a Masters race.

cool...a sanford crit thread...i did the cat 5 and _not_ the 4/5. I was a little overdone from riding a charity event the day before - which was supposed to be a warm-up but I turned it into a freaking TT. Sanford was my 5th mass start.

USA Cycling Response from Vicki Lyons:
Congrats you are now a Cat4. Print this off as proof if racing this weekend. Email me your address and I will mail new sticker but it will be next week before mailed as I am working Speed Week. Good luck, Vicki Lyons

mikerhymeswith, what jersey/bike did you have. Were you in the lead/main group, OTB?

I was kind of hoping that it would take another day as I was planning on racing the C race at Dixie tonight. Looks like if I go out there, I'll be racing w/ the 4's & the 3's . Must find out what my teammates are doing.

Don't go out there expecting to do something spectacular. Enjoy it for what it is.

Does hitting an open grate @30mph and somersaulting through the air count as spectacular?

Very nice. I talked to sub quite a bit on Sunday. Glad wanders and ljrichar made it. I'm a few days behind on BF, so I just stumbled onto this thread today. My team (Triangle Velo) puts this race on, and it went really well again this year. We had a pretty good day racing-wise as well- we put 5 guys in the top 15 of the P/1/2, and I won the masters 30+.

Thanks to everybody who came out for it!

Thanks to your teammate Mitchell (I think that's right) who was in 15th- he towed me to the line for 16th. Just happy to survive my first race as a 3.

congrats on the upgrade

i was one of two ITS-KANE riders in the race; i finished 3rd thanks to a back stretch alliance forged between the 4th place finisher and myself after the sock prime; i knocked off an entire hydration bottle in the 25 minutes we raced and felt like I should have had two bottles

substructure: nice video
