Knee injury recovery on the trainer:

I recently had a problem with my fit that caused me a knee injury. It's been keeping me off the bike for nearly a week. I got on the trainer and got the fit dialed in, but now I'm just waiting for it to heal.

My question: if I'm riding on the trainer, so I can stop whenever it starts to hurt, is it okay to do interval workouts? I just did a 20-minute interval, followed by two 5's, and I cut the second one short because I felt the knee start to hurt. Is it okay to do this, as long as I stop? Or am I just prolonging the time off the bike?

Probably depends. What part of the knee did you hurt?

Stay off for another week or so till you get no pain while you ride.

The last thing you want is to get an injury that doesn't heal fully and you just aggravate it again and again and again.
