Germantown MetroPark Circuit Race

My wife and I are going to be in this area next weekend while doing some house hunting for a possible job relocation. I was thinking about taking my bike along and figured why not get a race in as well? Just curious what type of course/race it is going to be? I looked at the event flyer and got that info, hope the start time is wrong for the 4's as it shows 2:15 AM. Was looking for some info from those who have done the race , assuming it's been done before, or at least rode the course. Also any idea on how fast/if the fields fill up? Thanks!

It's a 1k loop, kind of a RR/crit hybrid with a climb as well. It's first time for the course but team putting it on is top notch. I'll be taking pictures.

You'll have no problems registering. The cycling in Ohio isn't crazy where the fields fill up 5 minutes after registration opens. You'll have no problems pre-registering online or even just registering day of.

I heard from the guy who set up the course that there is 150 ft of climbing per lap. So it'll add up once the laps go up.

This is my teams race. I was out there after this afternoons race to check things out with the officals. The cat 4 race is at 2:15 PM and is 25 laps. Course is a closed, 1k loop in a park. There is a 150' climb on the front side with the finish at the top. The corner at the top will be fast and single file. This is a race that will be won by someone strong, tactics won't play a big role. As mentioned, reg. isn't a problem. Most likely have between 25-40 riders in the 4's. Park restrooms are available, but bring water. Any other questions, let me know and I'll do my best to answer. Oh, and welcome to the Dayton area if you end up making the move.

I appreciate all the info guys! Hopefully I can make it over for it. I won't actually be in the Dayton area but it's "close" enough to fit in the trip...

I will actually be more than 25 minutes away from that area while house hunting, thanks though. I figure it is the closest race to where we will be though so I might as well try it out. It appears that most of my racing will be outside of the area we are relocating to...

We will actually be in WV but there seems to be VERY little road racing there. Plus my wife is planning to do a marathon in Kettering in September so she wants to check the terrain out.

I work in Kettering, it's flat......and hilly. Just depends on what part of town you're in.

Yep, WV is bad for races. LowCel was driving like 700 miles round trip some weekends to race around here. IIRC, he was happy because one race was "only" 2.5 hours away.
