Team Tents

At my last race I was realizing that it's kind of silly that our team tent is just a generic blue canopy when our team colors are pink and black.

I'm looking in to getting one made in our team colors. Anyone know of a reliable place to get canopy tents in custom colors and/or designs?

Bonus points if they let you put custom logos/text on it as well.

Your tent should match your under wear.

So then the question is still the same, where can I find a pink tent?

overkill?
maybe. but it's nice to have a dedicated place to park your bike while watching the other races. or a place to setup a trainer in the shade while warming up.

Check custom colors, and they will silkscreen logos and stuff for you.

I actually have somewhat mixed opinion of team tents. If you're allowed to have them though, then why not? And if you're allowed to have them, then why not have one in your team colors?

Were they set up close to the road at Syn-Fit, or did it just blow a long way?

That was me that the tent almost hit. I am mid-bridge and I hear some one yell "Tent!" just as I see a tent leg land a foot or so from my front wheel. Good times.

Absolutely. Every team with more than 2 people on it seems to have one. However, it was easy to find teammates.

My team back home had several tents. We (Cat1/2 dudes) never used them. The further down the ladder, the more frequently they were used. If your race is at noon, you can afford to sit under a tent for 3 hours before you warm up. If your race is at 6pm and is going to be 100km of pain, sit your ass indoors in Subway.

Seriously, I'd rather sit in a restaurant or a hotel room than get steamed like a pot of rice on a muggy summer day in Chicago. Support your team when you can, but hot/humid summer days are not the time to do it. That might work in the dry heat of SoCal or Arizona, but you'd be done in 20km unless you had an IV drip full of Gatorade, pushing the fluids before the race, anywhere east of the big muddy.

Lol at botto

Real suggestion: Why not hang a team banner from your current tent instead of buying a custom one?

Oh yeah, that will look real nice

Should they color their bikes with those fruit smell markers while they're at it?

Caravan Canopy does nice custom tents.

No it's not overkill. It's super easy and cheap with new printing processes. Are team jersey's overkill?
