Any road races in Maryland this weekend? (Murad Road Race Cancelation)
I was coming down from Buffalo to do the Murad during the holiday weekend, but it got postponed (maybe this is why i don't do races out of my local area).
Are there any road races (not crits, I know about RFK) this weekend? Even club training series races maybe that have open registration?
I'm a Cat 5
Any help would be awesome, thanks.

Are you flying or driving? If you are driving, you could stop half way here in Bloomsburg, PA and do the Dan Spencer RR, it is not too different from Murad. Not really any other races around here, they try not to schedule more than one major local race on the same day.
Were you coming all this way just to do Murad? It is a fine race and all, but that's a hell of a long way to go for a one day local race.

Hey man, Buffalo has some quality races. Have you checked with BBC? Their thursday downtown crit series is finally starting up, there is a tuesday night track series, plus weekend races.
Plus this weekend there is a race in Corning just about 2 hrs from Buffalo. Plus you can race twice, cat 5 goes off at 9am, 4/5 field in the afternoon.
Lots of racing in western new york.

You could always do the 7 am or 10 am Saturday group rides out of Rock Creek Park (https://dcvelo.com/rides.php) (the 10 am ride goes on Saturdays, despite what it says on this link). Note that both of these will probably be more challenging than a cat 5 road race.

I built the BBC website, my company Sharpcut Media is a sponsor of the club haha, www.buffalobicycling.com this is me https://www.buffalobicycling.com/member.php?id=1 ;-)
No I'm going to Baltimore for the weekend to visit a friend (yearly trip) and he got into cycling and wanted to race together, so he's not good enough for crits. If we can't find anything we'll just do a 50 miler on our own or something

This all makes sense now. Was scratching my head trying to figure out why you were making the trip down. prerace.com is a favorite site of mine, didnt see any other races in the area.
Good luck finding something. I will be making the drive to Buffalo to visit family a few times this summer, maybe we will bump into eachother at some of the BBC races. I am for sure doing the crit weekend.

The differenec is that when you get dropped in a cat 5 crit you get pulled, but when you get dropped on the 7 AM you are left by yourself on Clara Barton Parkway with dead legs and automobiles trying to kill you, and probably lost if you are not from the area.
