Cavendish... fail.

"It's a shame to say this," but Tyler Farrar "isn't on the same level of me and Petacchi."

Meh, it's Cav.

For a guy with his kind of ego, I must say he is remarkably self aware, particularly for his age.

Reason 498 why I don't like Cav. He's the fastest thing on two wheels but he's a tool.

Arrogant ass.
His legs do all the talking already, why does he have to open his mouth?

Columbia and Garmin have quite a rivalry going on. Cavendish knows what to say to rile Farrar.

And, it's true. Cavendish says what he thinks and he knows he shouldn't always do so. Later, he'll rephrase what he said in more polite terms. I realize he means that Tyler isn't at his level yet but shows a lot of promise and Cavendish looks forward to years of intense rivalry.

Garmin had nobody up front for Tyler; Cavendish did have a very good leadout.

I think the pace set by Astana strung out the peloton and got the sprinters' men disorganized.

He's what? 23? And he does have the legs. He's a cocky ass doing the expected thing.

Cavendish always has a great leadout when he wins. The few times he didn't he lost. I attribute part of his success to his team. He is fast but he needs to give some credit to his team for putting him in the best position. A lot of the other guys don't have that.

Boonen isn't exactly a geriatric and he's never been such classless a-hole, Zabel was always a gracious winner. Christ even McEwan, who has a bit of the prick about him, isn't this blatant. Cav would do himself some good by showing that he's got the class go along with his speed.

Cipollini, did he talk **** about his competitors?
What about Pettachi?

It'd give us less material to gripe about on BF if every rider was a gracious winner. While I think Cav is an arrogant a**, i appreciate the fodder for discussion that originates from what he spits out of his mouth.

Have you heard him in any post-win interview? Seems to me he recognizes the work of his team. Also, don't recall much of a "great leadout" when he won MSR

Did I mention those two? No. I don't much care for Pettachi for the same reason. He was talking the same sort of trash about Boonen a few years back....before his drug bust. As for Mario..he talked trash but he did it with style.

I call Cav "Booger". Doesn't he remind you of the kid in school that always looked dirty and had dried up boogers on his nose and face?

He won MSR by a nose hair...that wasn't such a dominant soul crushing defeat. I don't think anyone here is disputing his speed, just his lack of class.

Not sure, but the quote was posted on a NYT journalists's twitter so you may see the story on the NYT site.

This is the journalist's page on NYT: https://topics.nytimes.com/topics/ref...cur/index.html

Looks like she writes a lot about cycling.

Apparently you missed Hincapie towing him up to the rear end of the lead bunch, through the lead bunch, and then leading him out at the end.

Might want to bump up your prescription on them bifocals next time you head over to the optometrist's office, gramps.

How can he say that if Tyler is getting 2nd place a couple times? Doesn't that count for anything? You'd think Dave Z could make a good lead out man, wth is he? Why is garmin sucking so hard at the giro.
